Chesapeake Energy asked Publicis Hawkeye to create a video that would convey a positive message to a wide range of stakeholders. After navigating a challenging period, Chesapeake Energy was on an upward trajectory and sought to communicate its resurgence and unwavering corporate spirit. They aimed to restore and enhance the company's image, instill confidence among investors and shareholders, attract new talent to support the company's resurgence, and strengthen its ties to the local community.

Our video,"The Power of Why", tapped into the unique innovative spirit that sets Chesapeake Energy apart in the realm of petroleum and natural gas companies. In the spot, we showed an alternate universe, where no one had ever bothered to ask “why” and see that certain technologies had never advanced. Children in a classroom are taught the Earth is flat, a family says goodbye to father in what appeared to be an airport, but is in fact a harbor with large boats, the abacus used in place of a computer in an office space, and finally we see highways filled by horse drawn carriages instead of cars. "The Power of Why" conveyed the innovative spirit and strength of Chesapeake Energy in a unique and compelling way.

For this project, I worked closely with a copywriter to concept, storyboard, and pitch the video to the client. Once the client chose our concept, I assisted in director and cast selection, wardrobe and makeup direction, and was on set for all filming.
